About six months ago, I was at one of those Chamber of Commerce meetings, and I watched someone hold up their iPhone and take a picture of several people holding their martinis in a celebrative pose. 2.-The app would suggest a certain route and way to work the room, drawing a little red line in the direction of the first individual or group they should go to talk to people based on how many people were in each group, how involved they were in their conversations, and how well dressed they were, potentially estimating their influential value in the community.

You see, there are folks who are experts at reading a room, and working a room. There are folks like myself who have been to several hundreds of these mixers over the years, and it’s really no big deal.
